caret-color: #666666;\">Gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Engenharia Mec\u00e2nica pela USP (1980), mestrado em Engenharia Mec\u00e2nica pela USP, com tema sobre Planejamento e Controle de Produ\u00e7\u00e3o (1983) e doutorado em Sistematiza\u00e7\u00e3o da Produ\u00e7\u00e3o no WZL RWTH Aachen, como o tema sobre Planejamento de Processo por Computador, CAPP (1988). Tornou-se Livre Docente na USP com tese sobre CAPP (1992) e Professor Titular da USP na \u00e1rea de Integra\u00e7\u00e3o da Manufatura (1995). Docente da Escola de Engenharia de S\u00e3o Carlos (EESC) da USP desde 1982. Professor s\u00eanior do Departamento de Engenharia de Produ\u00e7\u00e3o desde 2019. Foi professor convidado em 1995 pelo WZL Aachen, Alemanha para desenvolvimento de especifica\u00e7\u00e3o do STEP e professor convidado em 2003 na Universidade de Missouri, USA para atuar no projeto da SAP para aplica\u00e7\u00e3o do sistema mySAP PLM. Professor visitante da German-Vietnamese University (VGU) desde 2019. Co-autor do livro Gest\u00e3o de desenvolvimento de produtos: uma refer\u00eancia para a melhoria do processo. Este livro vem sendo adotado como refer\u00eancia por v\u00e1rias institui\u00e7\u00f5es de ensino e por empresas. Co-autor do livro Gerenciamento de Processos de Neg\u00f3cio, BPM (busines process management): uma refer\u00eancia para implanta\u00e7\u00e3o pr\u00e1tica. Este livro foi adotado pela ABEPRO (Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira de Engenharia de Produ\u00e7\u00e3o) para fazer parte da cole\u00e7\u00e3o de livros indicados. Fundador do N\u00facleo de Manufatura Avan\u00e7ada (NUMA). Membro do Grupo de Engenharia Integrada (GEI2) do NUMA. Trabalha atualmente na \u00e1rea de gest\u00e3o da inova\u00e7\u00e3o, servitiza\u00e7\u00e3o e design de sistemas produto-servi\u00e7o (PSS: product-service system), gest\u00e3o do ciclo de vida de produtos (PLM: product lifecycle management), planejamento da inova\u00e7\u00e3o (FEI: front-end of innovation), gest\u00e3o e modelagem de processos de neg\u00f3cio (BPM: business process management) e DfE: design for environment.
